Thrift store crocheted blankets

The one good thing about the colder weather is that I can
start using some of the pretty blankets that I find at thrift stores.
It's sad that someone put a lot of love and time creating them only to be discarded.
But trust me, they are loved now!

I love the colors in the one on the bottom of the stack. I need to start checking out the local Goodwill more often.

Thanks, the one you mentioned is gorgeous and is my favourite.
It actually is the size of a queen size bed and is so warm.

It is interesting how it was made.
Every section was made with 2 different colours of yarn held together. Then one of those colours was carried to the next section and a new one was added.
At some point (s)he ran out of colours and there is a huge area with one solid colour.
