Finished: Wall-e in crochet
He is only 2 1/2 inches high.
I adapted this great free pattern from sunshineravioli.
My changes:
I put poster board into his main body so that he would be more rigid.
I made the wheels larger and put them under his body.
I added black embroidery to his hands.
I made a base for the eyes using polymer clay then crocheted a outer layer of yarn.
His neck is make of wire covered with yarn so that I could change the position of his eyes.
Here is a work in progress of him...you can see a bit of foam board sticking out of his base.

You did a fabulous job! He is too cute ♥
Thanks CP, and I even used clay LOL!
He's so cute! Hard to believe he's only 2 1/2 inches! That's a LOT of detail on such a small guy. You could even say, with his wire, poster board & polymer parts that he's a "stealth" multi-media piece. LOL
LOL! Your right Dawn... he's definitely got a lot of other things going on inside him. Seems kinda right since Wall-e always brought home all sorts of odds and ends :0)
Very, very nice and sweet!
Bravo!
I love him! So cute =D
AWESOME job!
Love him! <3
I love wall-e and eve! They look fantastic, nice work :o)
Thanks guys, as always I appreciate the comments!
how did you crochet around the base, it looks hard to do when you used the clay for the base
poohbear, I didn't use clay in the base, only for his eyes.
For the base I inserted squares of foam board into the crocheted base to keep the sides rigid then I added stuffing.
I added another picture where you can see a little of the board sticking out before I sewed the base closed.
lo-ve-ly!!!!!!
Thanks so much Natts!
Wow - such a great job!!
Thanks PaisleyJade...It was fun adapting the pattern to put my spin on it.
He's amazing!!! I may be weird, but I actually adore the "work-in-progress" version almost more than the complete version. He's just got so much personality there and it looks very much like a mess he could get himself into! Love it!!! I'm going to try this as soon as I finish up a few other projects I'm working on. (Am I the only one who gets knee-deep in crochet projects?) Thanks for sharing!! :-)
